INTRODUCTION

ELEVATING GLOBAL WISDOM

University Islam Malaysia (UIM) provides higher education in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes based on the Islamic faith of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah without discrimination of gender, race, religion, degree and nationality.

Established in November 2014 as the first postgraduate university in Malaysia, the university is inspired to contributed to the well-being, prosperity and happiness of the ummah and people at large through universal wisdom rooted in Islamic education.

UIM will be offering its first undergraduate programmes in March 2021 and aims to be a leader in Islamic-based education regionally through innovative education systems, which combines knowledge and wisdom with integrity and credible leadership and to inculcate best governance practices.

Thus, the university has offered five Masters programmes and five PhD programmes since its establishment. Three diploma programmes wil commence in March 2021, followed by four bachelor’s degree programmes in September; our first undergraduate intake.

UNIVERSITI ISLAM MALAYSIA

The logo integrates three key visual elements, namely that of Islam, The Ruler and Knowledge. These three elements directly serve as the catalyst for the University’s Vision, Mission and Core Values. The Kufic script reflects the beauty of Islamic calligraphy presented in the form of Headgear (Tengkolok) of the Malay Rulers which symbolises Islamic Integrity.

To inspire the well-being, prosperity and happiness of the people through universal wisdom rooted in Islamic education, as well as to believe that the believers who help (religion) Allah will help and uphold the position of believers.

MISSION

Determined to be a leader in Islamic-based education at the regional and Islamic world through innovative education systems, combining knowledge and wisdom together with integrity and credible leadership with best governance practices.

  1. Strengthen Islam's will to the development of knowledge based on the exclamation of the craved in the word of Allah S.W.T which means And pray by saying, "O my Lord, increase my knowledge".
  2. Produce insightful  thinkers and scholars as well as holistic, balanced and entrepreneurial graduates through a mix of visionary knowledge and wisdom.
  3. Provide a stimulating and effective educational environment to instill a love and affection for knowledge, fellow human beings and the environment.
  4. Build an organization that is the forefront of best practices of governance and leadership.
  5. Strengthen the capacity to increase donations to stakeholders including the needy community, University citizens, donors, and others.
  6. Support the strengthening of Islamic management institutions (IPI) through human resource and organizational development to ensure the progress of Islam the Ummah.

UIM's motto and philosophy: elevating global wisdom is a recognition of wisdom as our shared value. Wisdom is acknowledged historically, and across cultures of the world, as the ideal endpoint of human development.

Wisdom has both philosophical and psychological/practical aspects, and also both divine and human related. With such combinations and permutations, wisdom is poised and best-placed to mitigate the complex problems of the world and to design a much better future for mankind.

Global wisdom has the potential and capacity to harmonise the world.
